Literature Text

A curious sight,
A light that beckons to all.
Come,
It calls,
Time for your Journey to begin.
Take your first steps,
Leave safety behind,
Embark on your Journey.
Take your hope,
Your spirit,
Your curiosity,
Cross the desert,
To the beckoning light.

Speak your first words,
Only the pale desert sky listens.
There is one who hears you,
A companion,
A friend,
For no Journey,
Should be taken alone.

Together,
Find all the knowledge you can,
Of the past,
The present,
And learn from others' mistakes,
To create a brighter future.

Discover the wonders of life.
Fly with the birds,
Swim with the fish,
Understand what it truly means,
To live.

Cross the threshold,
Follow the light,
To the mountain top.
The end of your Journey is nigh.

Step through the snow,
Do not fail now,
The light is so close,
Yet so far from reach.

Through the howling wind,
And blinding snow,
Stepping slowly,
The icy snow chilling you to the bone.

The storm dies,
You are left stumbling in silence.
So close now,
So close.

The light seems much too far,
Hope fails you,
The deep snow envelopes you,
Now all is dark.

A light peers through,
You hear it faintly,
Calling you from the darkness.
Ascend from despair,
Follow the light,
Your Journey is at its end.

You feel great peace,
As your conciseness fades away into nothingness.
But do not fear.

Though your Journey may end,
Another begins.
For there is no end without a beginning,
And no beginning without an end.
There will always be
A Journey.
I'm not much of a poem person, but I thought I'd try it out lol. It is about the game Journey. I know, it sucks, but I think it's alright lol.

I think this piece is absolutely beautiful. I was listening to Legend of Zelda music while reading this...Wow, the amount of inspiration that hit me!!

I'd like to thank you; I had to write a 1,500 word essay on the concept of 'journeys'. Before I read this I was struggling to find the right words...this wonderful poem, plus the inspiration, really helped my essay to flow. I'm happy to say that I scored very well on my essay.

So thank you! I love this poem to bits; your choice of words really helps to create the image - and I have never even played Journey! (although I want to). Expect a watch from me, and if you need me, I'll be reading the rest of the literature that you have to offer :)
