Chapter 3
Forbidden Friendship
Hunger soon had Roy up and moving to
find a meal. He drew his bow and set out into the nearby woods to find
something to eat. Roy found and killed to large hares, which would be able to
supply him with a good meal for a day or two. He skinned and cooked one of the
hares, and hung the other from a nearby tree branch to keep it out of reach of
scavengers who might try to steal it.
The sun was at reaching its zenith
when Roy began to hear the shrill cries of the ruby red dragon. He quickly
finished his meal, and then he went to go investigate what was causing the
dragon to make such a noise,

In this world, known as Gealmeara, there is a king who is just and amiable. He ruled his people with fair and level-headed judgment. Coming of Age
A boy sat impatiently with his mother in a cold, dusty room. The boy’s excitement grew as he waited in the half-light of the torches. He began to tap his foot against the leg of the stool he sat on. The boy was becoming increasingly frustrated because of his impatience.
“Mother,” the boy spoke, his words sounding flat in the still air. “How much longer will they take?”

Encounter
Roy wondered for a moment if his father’s dragon had joined him by the pond just to tell him that bit of advice. The boy shrugged his mood slightly less forlorn. He allowed himself to relax a little bit. Whitefang was right, he would be bonded with a dragon soon enough; it just wasn’t the right time yet.
Feeling a bit more elated, the young prince rose from where he sat on the grass, and brushed the dirt and leaves from his trousers. Roy navigated the castle gardens to the stables.
